About

A love letter to Yoga

Is Yoga for you too?

I remember my earlier experiences with Yoga in 2010s as being something I would do before I went on holidays, as a treat, and as a prelude to me going on holidays. So it was always a nice feeling when I showed up to a Yoga class it was because I am starting my holidays!

I remember Hot Flow Yoga classes being so packed that you are literally in each others’ space. As a complete contrast, the Yin Yoga class would be half empty. It is beautiful to see Yin classes are mostly filled today, even though they are still less populated on the timetable than the flow classes.

By mid 2010s I began practising Yoga more consistently, it was no longer something I would do just before taking time off work. It became a weekly event. And it became a Hot Yoga / Yin Yoga back to back event. I have loved this ever since.

Around the same time, I also got into more consistent meditation practice after being introduced to the guided meditations of Vishen Lakhiani and Dr Joe Dispenza, amongst others, without knowing the connection between Yoga practice (which I thought was a physical practice) and meditation practice (a mental practice).

After practising meditation for a number of years and having attended Dr Joe’s in-person Progressive Workshop in Manly in 2016, I took my meditation journey to the next level in 2023 by attending Dr Joe’s 7-day Advanced Retreat. That was mind opening and I have always described that experience as an awakening. From then on, I understood that we hold the power to heal ourselves and create our own reality.

For the first time in my life, perhaps having practiced more on going with the flow of the Universe through meditation and how to tune into my intuition, I felt a calling to become a Yoga teacher so not just to guide a Yoga class, but also to allow others to experience meditations at the end of a Yoga session.

It was not until I started my Yoga Teaching Training with Power Living that I realised that Yoga is meditation, and Yoga philosophy directly overlaps with the teachings of Dr Joe. I was mind blown and so excited by this discovery. No one told me!

I love Yoga. Yoga is love. Yoga is a way of living that grounds you from the craziness of this modern world we live in and teaches you to focus inwardly: Focus on the love that we have inside of us, and the divine that lives in all of us. This is what matters most, yet this is very much forgotten in most cases because we are so distracted.

My Yoga classes are aimed at challenging the body but at the same time calming the mind through the practice of meditation.

It is an immersive experience through breath, movement, meditation and gentle yogic philosophy.

I look forward to seeing you in class soon.

With love and deep gratitude to all my teachers and friends who continue to inspire me along the way,

Opal

Mission

To create a supportive and grounded space where people can explore, experience, and embody the true essence of yoga. Through mindful movement, breath, and self-inquiry, I guide students to reconnect with their inner wisdom and cultivate a deeper relationship with themselves.

I am committed to making yoga accessible, authentic, and meaningful — not just as a physical practice, but as a pathway to awareness, compassion, and personal transformation. By holding space with intention and care, I aim to empower each individual to move beyond limitation, return to love, and integrate this awareness into their everyday lives.

Through this work, I seek to inspire a ripple effect — where each person who reconnects with their true self carries that presence into the world, contributing to a more conscious, kind, and connected collective.

Vision

A world where more and more people reconnect with their true nature — a place within that is rooted in love, presence, and the divine. Through the practice of yoga, I hope to guide individuals back to themselves: beyond the noise, beyond the conditioning, and into a deeper awareness of who they truly are.

As each person awakens to this inner truth, something powerful begins to shift. We move with greater compassion, act with more intention, and live with a deeper sense of connection — not only to ourselves, but to each other and the world around us.

In this way, yoga becomes more than a personal practice; it becomes a collective ripple effect. The more we embody love and awareness, the more we contribute to healing, understanding, and positive change. My vision is that, together, we become part of the solution — creating a more conscious, harmonious world for all.

Values

  • Authenticity
I honour the true essence of yoga and encourage each person to show up as they are. This is a space for realness, self-honesty, and alignment with one’s inner truth.

  • Compassion
I lead with kindness — toward myself, my students, and the wider world. Every practice is rooted in non-judgment, understanding, and care.

  • Presence
I value the power of being fully here. Through breath, movement, and awareness, we cultivate a deeper connection to the present moment where transformation begins.

  • Accessibility
Yoga is for everyone. I am committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where all bodies, backgrounds, and experiences are respected and supported.

  • Growth
I believe in the ongoing journey of learning, unlearning, and evolving. Each practice is an opportunity to expand awareness and deepen connection.

  • Integrity
I teach and hold space with honesty, respect, and responsibility — staying true to the roots of yoga while sharing it in a way that is relevant and meaningful.

  • Connection
I honour the inter-connectedness of all beings. Through yoga, we strengthen our relationship with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.

  • Contribution
I believe that inner transformation leads to outer change. By embodying love and awareness, we become active contributors to a more conscious and harmonious world.
